Greetings for the New Year
MRU Library
Romeris

How should I greet you, New Year? What should I wish for? I have only one wish for myself: that I be with God and God be with me, because then

You will ride a fierce lion without fear
and walk through pitch darkness,
and God
will command His guardian angels to watch over you,
to carry you in their hands,
so that, walking the road,
you would not strike your foot against a stone.

As for my work, if God is with me, I allow myself to wish that my lectures turn into a study and a book that would adorn Lithuania’s scholarly literature.

Such a wish was written by Mykolas Romeris in his diary on January 1, 1923. Indeed, his university lectures were published in 1934 and became an ornament of Lithuanian academic literature.

The MRU Library wishes that your hopes come true in the coming year, that the Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library be enriched with your articles and scholarly works. And do not forget poetry.
