Why this study programme?

Business Sociology and Market Research (BSMR) programme aims to educate highly qualified sociologists - the experts in society and social behaviour, to give insight on how societies develop and organize themselves, to provide wide and systemic theoretical knowledge in sociology, incorporating roles in marketing, statistics, research, public relations, etc.; to develop skills to apply theoretical knowledge, analysing, comparing and valuating social phenomenons; to improve and creatively apply research and sociological practical skills; to disclose actual social problems and to foresee the ways of their solving. The graduates of the programme will be prepared to proceed their studies in sociological doctoral studies level or other in Social Sciences.

Business Sociology and Market Research (BSMR) study programme is different from other Sociology study programmes as it provides an understanding of how to categorize and analyze different subsections within society, knowledge on the creation and targeting of marketing campaigns, gives the statistical and analytical skills providing an excellent background for effective work in this field. It is first programme of such type in Lithuania.

Entry requirements

  • Graduates of university bachelor's studies in any study field can apply to this programme;
  • English language proficiency - the level not lower than B2 (following the Common Framework of Reference for Language approved by the Council of Europe). Distant English language level test is organized for those, who do not possess IELTS or TOEFL certificates.

International mobility possibilities

Students can participate in ERASMUS+ mobility programme which gives a possibility to study at a university abroad for 1 or 2 semesters and do internship in another country.
