    International Human Rights Summer Studies at Mykolas Romeris University July 19th-31st

    July 19th-31st, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will host the 5th annual summer school, "International Human Rights Summer Studies." The school will bring together students from the U.S., as well as Belarus, Georgia, France and Lithuania. Participants will discuss and listen to lectures on Human Rights Protection issues, analyze practical situations and take part in moot court. Lecturers will come from various parts of the globe including France, Great Britain, Belarus, the U.S. and Lithuania. There will be visits to the Office of Equal Opportunities Ombudsman, the State Border Guard Service's Foreigners' Registration Center as well as the Vilnius Genocide Museum.

    Scholarships for a Mykolas Romeris University student with good grades

    European Parliament member Professor Aloyzas Sakalas has decided to award a monthly 500 Litai (€ 145,) scholarship to one indigent student with good grades at Mykolas Romeris University each month beginning January 1st. Sakalas will award the scholarship from his own personal funds.

    U.S. Elon University students visit MRU campus

    January 15th, a group of 18 students from U.S. Elon University (Elon, NC) on a whirlwind tour thru Europe, visited Mykolas Romeris University. They were accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Betty Morgan from Elon's Dept. of Political Science and Public Administration. The students, including one from Iceland, are studying the European Union (EU) and its institutions. They have already visited Brussels, Luxembourg, the Hague and will travel onward to Budapest from Vilnius.

    The team of Mykolas Romeris Law students, guided by dr. Justinas Zilinkas, associated professor of the Department of International Law, successfully took part in the International Tournament of Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington.

    Mykolas Romeris University in cooperation with Kazakh National Pedagogical University takes part in the IAU’s Leadership Development for Higher Education Reform Programme (LEADHER). This programme is meant to encourage the institutional leadership development for reforms in various areas.

    Mykolas Romeris University represented at the University of Wroclaw

    On May 21 -24, Mykolas Romeris university was represented during Lithuanian culture days at the University of Wroclaw. Ieva Tondrykaitė, Coordinator of Academic Exchange Programmes, introduced Mykolas Romeris university to the audience of the event. Photographer Vidunas Gelumbauskas opened the exhibition of his numerous photographs from the University life, as well as his personal works. The exhibition will remain publicly available at the University of Wroclaw during the whole summer.

    Lecture series on European Historic and Geographic Identity

    Last series of lectures of the bilateral French-Lithuanian study module on <EM>European Historic and Geographic Identity</EM> will take place at the University on May 23-25. Lectures and seminars will be given by prof. Michael Hartmeier, Vice-President for International Relations of Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg and lecturer Ramunas Trimakas from the Department of Political Sciences of Mykolas Romeris University.
