Exhibition “Moses Wandering”
MRU Library

In the Grand reading room sculptures have appeared on the tables—similar, yet each one different. This reflects how each of us needs a unique purpose to help overcome challenges. “…how can You find the Moses who would lead You through the desert?“—asks Daumantas Levas Todesas in his project.

At the center of this project is the head of Moses, originally created by Jakovas Bunka, the only Jewish folk artist in Lithuania. In 1986, he erected a sculpture of Moses on the hill in Plateliai. The sculpture collapsed in 2016, and only Moses’s head was saved and preserved. We invite you to explore various interpretations of Bunka’s Moses head created by different Lithuanian artists.

The exhibition "Moses Wandering" is on display in our library from May 20 to July 1.
