Sports and Health

MRU Community Well-being Center’s Health and Sports Department invites MRU Community to join sports activities, various trainings, health events and spend time in MRU sports facilities. Students are also invited to join University’s Teams: men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, women’s football, wrestling, powerlifting and chess Teams.

SPORTS HALL

MRU Community has an opportunity to book MRU Sports hall, where you can play team games (basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc.) or engage in individual sports activities with colleagues or classmates.
During the summer:

  • the hall can be booked for groups of 4 and more people;
  • only personal sports equipment (balls, rackets, etc.) is used.

TRAINING GYM

MRU Community has also an opportunity to book MRU Gym, where cardio and strength training can be done using sports equipment (calanetic balls, plates, weights) and exercise machines (Elliptical trainer, Indoor Rower, Flat bench press, Leg Press Hack Squad hammer, Gym bike, Machines with pulley, etc.)

NIRVANA FITNESS OUTSIDE

On the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th of August, Wednesdays, 9.00 a.m., next to MRU beach volleyball zone

Nirvana Fitness is a breathing workout and a natural way to reduce stress, anxiety and chronic pain. It detoxifies your body and mind through oxygenation (body’s saturation with oxygen) and prolongs your life.

NORDIC WALKING

On the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st of August, Tuesdays, 12.00 p.m., next to MRU beach volleyball zone

Nordic walking is a walking using sticks, specially designed for this walking. These sticks are used to move not only lower body while walking, but also the upper body. Nordic walking can be 46 percent more effective than simple walking, depending on its intensity. It is a very effective and easy way to improve your physical conditions.
During lessons Nordic walking sticks will be provided.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL TRAININGS

On the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of August, Thursdays, 4.00 p.m., at MRU beach volleyball zone

Did you know that during a volleyball game, the player on average jumps up to 300 times? Beach volleyball is a great start of the day, an active lunch break or relaxing end of a working day among company of friends, classmates, or even professors or colleagues. During the traning, volleyball equipment will be provided.

FITNESS GYM

MRU Community has a free access possibility to University’s Gym, where you will find both, cardio and strength training machines, weights, callanetics balls and other sports equipment.
