Events Marking the March 11th Independence Day to be held on March 5th, and March 9-10th at MRU
March 5th, as well as March 9th-10th, activities and events will take place at Mykolas Romeris University marking the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's March 11th Independence Day. March 5th, there will be a book presentation, commemorating the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's Independence Day. On March 9th, MRU Faculties invite to seminars and meetings with dignitaries. On March 10th, a literary musical programme, "There's Only One Homeland," will commence with poetry readings and a musical concert. The Cultural Activities Centre invites you to this event.

Commemorating Lithuania's Independence Day at MRU on February 12th
Mykolas Romeris University's Student Representative Body (MRUSA) commemorated Lithuania's February 16th Indepedence Day on February 12th, with a public debate and a folk dancing concert. MRU's folk dancing group, "Skalsa," performed in the morning in the 2nd floor foyer. There were debates, "Does the Public Still Believe What Politicians Say and Declare....?" that took place in the afternoon. Ex-Seimas member and actress Nijolė Oželytė, Seimas member Petras Auštrevičius and MRU Debate Club members all took part. MRU's Cultural Activities Centre organized the events, along with MRUSA.
Foreign Students Dined on Sushi, Bramboraky & German Potato Salad February 12th
Friday, February 12th, if you had a taste for something different, you should have been at MRU. Everything from sushi, French toast, Slovak cabbage soup to Czech bramboraky and Slovenian sardine sandwiches washed down with Slovenian wine was on hand for tasting. It's all thanks to Erasmus students studying at Mykolas Romeris University. They prepared and brought their national dishes for others to try. In between tastings, students even had a chance to dance with the University's "Skalsa" folk dancers. There are about 100 foreign students who have come to study at MRU this year from over 20 different countries.
Come see the Modern, Colourful Painting Exhibit Now on Display at MRU
A new collection of paintings have gone on display in the 3rd floor lobby of Mykolas Romeris University's II wing. Lina Karaliūtė, 35, has exhibited more than a dozen of her modern, colourful paintings with titles such as, "Full Moon," "Cold Nite," or "Day" and "Night." Her last exhibition was held in 2009 in Vilnius' Radvilų Rūmai exhibition hall. All are invited to come and see the paintings!
Photo Exhibit Commemorates 1991 Bloody Sunday - January 13th - Events
A photography exhibit commemorating the 1991 Bloody Sunday events of January 13th has gone on display in the foyer and exhibition area of Mykolas Romeris University's main administrative building. Photographers Antanas Burokas, Rimantas Bagdonas, and Zigfridas Jankauskas have captured the extraordinary events. Some photos are from the archives of the Voluntary National Defense Forces' film-photo video studio.
University Christmas Party Held December 22nd
Mykolas Romeris University's Christmas Party was held on December 22nd. Lecturers, students, staff and academics attended and good cheer abounded. University Rector Professor Alvydas Pumputis welcomed those present and wished everyone much success in the coming 2010 New Year. MRU's Choir performed Christmas carols at the event.
Waltzing towards Christmas: an Evening of Dance - December 18th
MRU's Bolero Ballroom Dance Studio invited one and all to a Christmas Evening of Waltzing, which took place Friday, December 18th. There were performances by several different groups.
