Spiritual Care - MRU

Spiritual Care

We are a Catholic youth community that invites and encourages you to meet like-minded peers your own age, to learn and grow together—not only professionally but also spiritually—and to journey through your college years and the next stages of life together with God! So if you’re looking for a community to support you in life and/or in your faith, this community is just for you!

  • We come together for moments of university life.
  • We invite you to join us for prayer and fellowship, as well as volunteer opportunities.
  • We also gather for trips, both near and far.
  • We gather for training sessions to grow ourselves and help others grow.

MRU St. Augustine Chapel

Like any community, we need a place where we can gather and feel at home and safe.

That’s exactly what our St. Augustine Chapel has become–located on the third floor of II building of the Central Campus (go straight to the top of the main staircase and turn right)–the Chapel is always open!

Every academic year, each week, we invite the entire University community to set aside their difficulties, even if only for a moment, and remember that God is with us at every step, so we can encounter Him here at the University as well. And Holy Mass is a wonderful opportunity for that!

Holy Mass and the gathering will take place on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. during the fall semester of 2026. After Holy Mass, we invite you to stay for agape (a time for a communal lunch and strengthening our bonds with one another).

Academic Spiritual Care in Vilnius

Our community is not alone. We are part of the large Vilnius Academic Spiritual Care community. Holy Mass will be celebrated at St. George’s Church in Vilnius at 7:00 p.m. (starting in October 2026).

Volunteering Club

Let’s put our worries aside—at least for a little while—and take the time to do some good. Let’s spend time together, offer warmth, attention, and joy to socially vulnerable people, and help brighten their daily lives.

Every other Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., we volunteer at the Senior Social Care Home (323 Kalvarijų St., Vilnius).

Team

The spiritual guidance coordinator is Juozapas Šopaga, a University student and student of philosophy.

Our team is especially delighted to have these University students and pillars of the team:

  • Ida Matulevičiūtė, hostess of the agape meals,
  • Marija Movčanaitė, inspiration manager,
  • Petras Gailiūnas, a discussion expert, mood-lifter, and volunteer pilgrim.

Our spiritual chaplain is Fr. Vytautas Saladis (vytautas.saladis@mruni.eu). He is always open to the opportunity or an invitation for a personal conversation.
