Short-term SMS and SMP for Doctoral Students
Short-term study mobility for doctoral students is an opportunity for doctoral students to travel to a foreign higher education institution for a short period of 5-30 days for the purpose of study and/or to participate in a mixed intensive programme, combining physical mobility with a virtual component.
Short-term mobility for doctoral students for the purpose of study is intended for doctoral students who, for justified reasons, are unable to take part in a longer-term mobility.
The aim of the Short-Term Mobility for Doctoral Students is to enable doctoral students to develop their academic competences in an international environment, to promote equality of opportunity and academic cooperation between doctoral students and staff in higher education institutions, and to ensure a modern, blended learning model combining physical and virtual activities.
Doctoral students must be awarded at least 3 ECTS credits for short-term mobility activities for study purposes.
Short-term mobility of doctoral students for the purpose of study shall be carried out in the Programme Countries and in higher education institutions in non-associated Programme Countries with which the University cooperates.
The grant for mobility to study in Programme Countries may be awarded more than once, while the grant for mobility to a non-associated Programme Country may be awarded only once, i.e. neither for a second mobility nor for an extension of the first mobility period. The current list of countries is given in Annex 1 to the Rules of Procedure for the organisation of outgoing mobility for students.
No grant will be awarded for the period of the virtual study component.
For short-term study mobility for doctoral students, a grant shall be awarded for the duration of the short-term physical mobility activity for a maximum period of 30 days as determined and approved by the host institution. The grant may also include additional individual support or other allowances, provided that it is justified by supporting documents provided by the participant.
The grant shall be calculated at a rate of EUR 79 per day up to the 14th day of the activity and EUR 56 per day from the 15th to the 30th day of the activity, irrespective of the Erasmus+ Programme country to which the doctoral student is going. Depending on the chosen mode of travel and the travel distance from Vilnius to the place of the activity, additional support is provided to cover return travel costs.
