INFORMATION FOR FREE MOVERS (VISITING STUDENTS)

The international student can also arrange his/her studies on his/her own initiative and in this case, he/she has to pay for them. Such student is called a non-degree FREE MOVER (or Visiting student). International students can apply as so-called “free-movers” for one or two semesters without being part of a specific exchange program.

You may apply to study at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) as a free mover if:

  • Your home university has an exchange agreement with MRU, but you have not been nominated as an exchange student, or
  • Your home university does not have a formal exchange agreement with MRU.

TUITION FEES

Free-movers are required to pay tuition fee for their studies at the host University (MRU). Tuition fee is calculated according to the number of ECTS credits selected for studies at MRU by the Free- mover (visiting student). The charge for one ECTS credit depends on the cycle of studies (Bachelor or Master) and the field of studies, and it is the same for EU and non-EU citizens. For an academic year 2023-2024 tuition fee for 1 ECTS credit at bachelor cycle is from 47,73 Eur to 63,93 Eur (for fields of psychology, languages, informatics); for master cycle is from 73,06 Eur to 79,00 Eur. The required number of credits per semester for a free mover (visiting student) is between 24 to 30 ECTS credits.
