Lecturers Marked European Languages Day with Visits to Schools

Sept. 26th, 2018, marking European Day of Languages, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Humanities Institute Lecturers Assoc. Prof. Sigita Rackevičienė and Kristina Schimmels from the U.S. visited pupils in several schools.
They visited the Utena Adolfas Šapoka Gymnasium, Molėtai Gymnasium and the Molėtai Area Alanta Gymnasium, where there were special lessons to mark the European Day of Languages.

The lessons were led by English for Specific Purposes and the Second Foreign Language and Translation and Editing Bachelor's Degree programme lecturer Schimmels and Norwegian language lecturer Assoc. Prof. Rackevičienė. Erasmus student from Sakartvelo Tatia Shervashidze was also present.

Lecturer Schimmels, who has been living in Lithuania for 6 years, shared her thoughts about how to become successful in life and what characteristics successful people have.

First of all, successful people are grateful, she noted. They feel and express thankfulness to everyone, which they meet in their life's path and who help in various life situations.

Successful people also themselves extend a helping hand, when it is necessary.

Another important characteristic of successful people is that they are not afraid of smiling and to laugh. They know that laughter can heal illnesses and that a smile can open even the most closed of hearts.

Successful people work long and hard and responsibly, when seeking their goals. They follow the rule, "Do not what you like, but learn to like what you do."
