FAQ

  1. Is it enough to provide only the Sponsor’s Bank Statement showing a balance of 16k KRW? Or is it mandatory to submit both the Sponsor’s Bank Statement and Income Certificate?

If the Sponsor’s Bank Statement exceeds KRW 16,000,000, an Income Certificate is not required.

*Note: The bank statement should be taken within 30 days of the application (in late April or in May).

     2. Who can be the Sponsor?

The sponsor must be either the student or their parents.

    3. What currency is acceptable?

You can provide the balance in EUR or other currency as long as the converted amount will be equal or more than 16,000,000 KRW.

   4. What exactly is the “Income Certificate of Sponsor”?

If financial proof through Bank Balance Statement is not sufficient, students may submit:

  • Certificate of employment
  • Proof of salary

*In some cases, a statement explaining the source of funds may also be required.

   5. I have a digital diploma, would an electronic school signature be acceptable? Does the stamp/signature have to be wet?

A digital diploma cannot be accepted, because graduation certificates must be submitted with either an apostille or consular legalization, and you cannot use a digital diploma at a notary’s office. You have to have the original document with wet stamp/signature.

   6. Do I need to translate bilingual diploma as well?

If all necessary information (subjects taken, documents title, school name) is clearly shown in English, the document can be legalized and submitted as is.

If not, please provide a translated version before obtaining the apostille or consular legalization by the Korean Embassy.

   7. Will I get back the submitted documents?

The documents won’t be returned; therefore, you need to obtain a notarized copy and have it apostilled.

   8. Where can I get a medical check-up? (updated: 2026-04-15)

  • Affidea (only in Ukmergės g. 223); price – 39 Eur.

  • Meliva InMedica (all branches); price – contact the clinic.
If needed they can provide vaccination services.
