Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law School graduate and lawyer Khadija Imranova from Azerbaijan says she is not the same person she was before beginning Legal Tech LL.M studies at MRU.

The Class of 2023 Law School graduate completed studies at MRU last month and graduated at the top of her class. She was awarded a special "Leader's" diploma during graduation ceremonies on June 22nd for her excellent grades.

"I'm so lucky that I was accepted to study in this programme," said Imranova speaking of the Master's programme offered at MRU. She said she would highly recommend the programme to all students wanting to learn more about technologies, robotics and law.

She said it was more or less a life changing decision because studies in the LL.M. programme heightened her interest in Robotics Law.

"I was inspired to delve into Robotics Law at Mykolas Romeris University. Just a year ago - in 2022, we couldn't even imagine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be part of our lives. Now the technology is evolving so fast that we should learn how it works and must understand how it applies to the legal process," said Imranova, who is already working as a lawyer in Baku.

"In Robotics class, we saw that a robot is making food and even washed the dishes after the person finished eating," she noted. The use of robots will increase in daily life, she added. "Robotics is the future and I am excited about this. Everything is possible with a robot," she added.

"AI will not replace humans and will most probably not replace lawyers," she said. "But lawyers that use AI will replace those that do not."

I enjoyed my time in Lithuania and really liked Vilnius. I loved the environment on campus - the park, the forest and even the silence, which is conducive for studies. Everything in Lithuania is extreme. For example, the weather is either very cold or very hot. But I adjusted and learned so much here, she said.

"I love the community that I had here. My fellow students were so helpful and friendly, which surprised me when I arrived in March. This environment on campus positively affected me.  During the graduation ceremony, Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė encouraged us to "stay connected." I will do that. MRU - studies here have changed me. I am not the same person I was, when I came here," she added.

Khadija plans to return to Baku to continue working as an attorney in a law firm where she has been promoted and is now an Associate in the Law firm. In the future, she would like to pursue PhD studies in the area of law.
