The project “DEVELOPMENT OF STEAM CENTER ACTIVITIES,” funded by the European Union

The Lithuanian Non-Formal Education Agency, together with its partners—Vilnius University, Klaipėda University, the Public Institution “Center for the Dissemination of Science and Innovation,” the Panevėžys Education Center, Alytus College, Marijampolė College, the Telšiai Education Center, the Tauragė Teacher and Student Support Center, and the Utena Education Center, is implementing the project “Expansion of STEAM Center Activities.” The project is funded by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility (EGADP).

Project objective: to create an effectively functioning network of STEAM centers.

Main activities: to develop a program for improving the competencies of students and teachers that implements a STEAM education ecosystem based on the networking of active, open-access STEAM education centers, a strengthened network of STEAM schools, and empowered STEAM ambassadors (innovative teachers).

Project duration: January 2024 – May 31, 2026

Funding allocated for the implementation of the activity: 8,883,147.87 EUR. The expansion of STEAM center activities is directly linked to the objective of the Development Program’s progress measure—to create conditions conducive to learning in all Lithuanian schools, to help students realize their potential and talents so that they can adapt as smoothly as possible to a changing environment, and, at a later stage, in the labor market. It is also very important to strengthen teachers’ readiness to work according to the updated general curricula by utilizing the methodological and infrastructural support provided by the STEAM centers.
