The Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, in collaboration with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), will present two exhibitions on 9 October at 3 p.m. in the Rotunda Hall of MRU (Ateities St. 20), where you can explore the experiences of Danish cities in creating sustainable and democratic spaces.
With increasing urbanisation, cities face increasingly complex challenges – waste management, energy, mobility and adaptation to climate change. The exhibitions "Together towards a greener future" and "Defending democratic values" showcase advanced environmental solutions and democratic values – freedom, security and community – that are being implemented in Danish cities.
Using examples of modern urban planning concepts, the exhibitions encourage reflection on how to create people-centred spaces that are welcoming, sustainable and inclusive. Creating sustainable cities is becoming an integral part of democracy, and in view of geopolitical challenges, this is not just a desire but a necessity today.
Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a virtual experience. Special VR glasses will transport them to the streets of Copenhagen, where they can see up close how sustainable urban solutions work in practice.
MRU Rector Prof. Dr Inga Žalėnienė and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Grete Sillasen, will give speeches at the opening of the exhibitions.
We look forward to your participation – let's take a step towards a greener future and stronger democracy together!
