Summer School for MA Students: Democracy at Risk. The Threat of the Extreme Right

Master’s students from the ERUA network are invited to take part in the international summer school “Democracy at Risk. The Threat of the Extreme Right”, which will be held from June 24 to 28, 2025, in Paris, France. The event is organised by University of Paris 8 in collaboration with the French Institute of Geopolitics.

This Summer School is part of the NEXTRIGHT research project (MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship No. 10115024), which explores how Western European democracies have responded to the resurgence of fascism and far-right ideologies after World War II, and how these developments continue to shape contemporary political systems. Why apply?
This Summer School offers more than just academic content. It provides a unique opportunity to engage in thought-provoking dialogue with scholars, experts, and representatives of research centres and NGOs working on the resurgence of the far right. Participants will explore how history can inform our understanding of today’s political challenges, with a particular focus on the cases of France and Italy. The programme includes seminars, workshops, interactive discussions, and cultural activities in Paris.
