On October 14, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) ERUA Ambassadors gathered for a Story Exchange workshop facilitated by former ambassador Yuliana Shuhani.
The session brought together students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and academic backgrounds, creating a space for meaningful dialogue in a world that often feels divided.
Using the Narrative 4 methodology, MRU students shared personal stories — moments of courage, change, and belonging. Through this simple yet powerful act, participants stepped into one another’s shoes, developed empathy as a skill, and discovered how storytelling can bridge cultures and identities. The exchange encouraged them to reflect on how much we have in common beyond nationality, political beliefs, or religious differences.
The story exchanges taking place at MRU reflect the broader vision of the ERUA Alliance — to strengthen intercultural dialogue, promote inclusion, and foster understanding in a diverse and evolving Europe. Guided by this spirit, MRU ERUA Ambassadors continue to connect local and international students, creating spaces where curiosity sparks connection and diversity becomes a shared strength.
Reflecting on the experience, ERUA ambassador Rica Armada shared:
"It felt relatable. I could connect to the experience of another student — we’re both foreigners from developing countries. I could really feel his story. It often feels like we have to work twice as hard for everything, and people born here don’t always realise how much simpler life can be for them. It felt good to share this perspective with local students — maybe it helps them see things a little differently."
Moments like these capture the essence of ERUA — where diversity transforms into dialogue, learning becomes a shared experience, and a more connected, empathetic Europe begins with every story told.
