On May 30, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) and the Lithuanian Defense, Culture and Education Association (org. Lietuvos gynybos, kultūros ir švietimo asociacija – LGKŠA) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at actively contributing to the development of the concept of total defense in society and strengthening the role of education and culture in the context of national security.

The agreement was signed by MRU Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saulius Spurga and LGKŠA Vice President Prof. Dr. Eugenijus Laurinaitis. The agreement foresees organizing lectures, discussions, and high-level cultural and artistic events that shape public aesthetic awareness and enrich cultural life. Cooperation is also planned in the implementation of educational and cultural projects, as well as the organization of conferences and other initiatives that foster public resilience and awareness of national security issues.

"Mykolas Romeris University, which offers study programs in the field of public security, highly values this newly established cooperation with the Lithuanian Defense, Culture and Education Association and is ready to contribute to the country’s strategic goals by strengthening societal resilience and national security," noted MRU Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saulius Spurga.

This cooperation marks a significant step in mobilizing the academic community, and representatives of culture and education, in support of national interests.
