May 29th, 2023, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) and partners from Poland and Ukraine signed a declaration in Lublin establishing the Academic and Analytical Lublin Triangle Network. MRU is one of the founders of this network. MRU's Public Governance and Business Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Darius Štitilis represented the University at the event.

"It is expected that the activities of the universities, and analytical centers belonging to the Academic and Analytical Triangle of Lublin will contribute to the creation and implementation of the concept of a safe Central European region," said Dean Prof. Dr. Štitilis.

Foreign Affairs ministers of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine May 28th, 2020 in their declaration regarding establishment of the Lublin Triangle Network, wanted to strengthen connections and regional cohesion, and to promote mutual contacts and cooperation, including the cooperation of researchers and experts. This was confirmed by the ministers and in the Declaration on common European heritage and common European values, signed November 7th, 2021. Close cooperation between the parties encouraged representatives of Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian academic and analytical centers to create the network of the Academic and Analytical Lublin Triangle.

The aim of the network is to provide academic and expert information to the political decision-making centers of the states of the Lublin Triangle about the changes taking place at the regional level, especially in Central Europe. In addition, it aims to provide information as well on the international global system and about the internal conditions of these changes. It is hoped that this will strengthen the position of the academic community and analytical-expert centers that make up the Academic-Analytical Network of the Lublin Triangle in the European, transatlantic and global research and education sphere. It will also help strengthen the quality of research, especially in the field of contemporary international relations and their conditions, through a unique format of cooperation.

The network declaration was signed May 29th and 30th during the Lublin Central Europe Forum, "Central Europe in the Shadow of War: Challenges and Perspectives." It is the first international conference organized by the academic and analytical partners of the Lublin Triangle.
