“Theatre is a place where every detail acquires a sacred meaning, and the beating of an actor’s heart becomes the pulse of the entire hall,” says Julius Dautartas, director of the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Theatre. It was precisely our ensemble’s commitment to conveying each emotion down to its subtlest nuance that earned us prestigious recognition at the XXVI International University Theatre Forum “Anbo Code” in Vilnius.
This year’s forum opened on May 3rd in the Small Hall of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). The program featured over 20 performances, creative workshops, panel discussions, and artist-led tours of Vilnius theatre venues. “Anbo Code” invited participants to explore the codes of communication and identity on stage, weaving historical contexts with contemporary forms.
Amid the forum’s rich lineup from May 3rd to 10th, the MRU Theatre troupe received special acclaim: actress Jovita Dalgedaitė was awarded a diploma for her compelling storytelling performance in the production “Silk Dance.” This award recognizes not only Jovita’s individual talent but also the collective courage, professionalism, and shared vision of the entire ensemble.
Congratulations to director Julius Dautartas, Jovita Dalgedaitė, and the whole MRU Theatre team on this distinguished honor. We thank you for transforming each performance into a powerful, artistic journey into the human soul.
