From 15 to 20 June 2026, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) hosted the 14th International Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Week, bringing together 40 participants representing 28 universities from 18 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. The event provided an inspiring platform for sharing best practices, strengthening professional networks, and exploring new opportunities for international cooperation.
The programme began with a virtual introductory session on 10 June, followed by a guided tour of Vilnius Old Town upon participants' arrival. Throughout the week, attendees took part in thematic presentations, interactive training sessions, meetings with MRU academic and administrative staff, and cultural activities introducing Lithuania's rich heritage.
The Staff Exchange Week was officially opened by MRU Vice-Rector for Studies, Prof. Dr. Natalija Kaminskienė. Inesa Cvetkova, representative of the Education Exchanges Support Foundation, presented the latest developments in international mobility, good practices, and the future priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jolanta Bieliauskaitė, Strategic Partnership Project Lead, introduced participants to the activities and future prospects of the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA).
This year's programme focused on international mobility and strategic partnerships, research and innovation, and staff well-being. A dedicated programme for academic library professionals created opportunities to exchange field-specific experience, while all participants shared successful practices from their home institutions and discussed common challenges facing higher education. Representatives of Erasmus Student Network (ESN) MRU Vilnius also introduced participants to student volunteering initiatives and the organisation's role in supporting international students.
In addition to the academic programme, participants visited MRU's academic departments and the University Library, took part in individual networking meetings, and explored Lithuania's history, ethnographic regions, and cultural heritage during an excursion to Druskininkai. A performance by the University's pop vocal group and shared dinners featuring traditional Lithuanian cuisine created a welcoming atmosphere and encouraged lasting professional and personal connections.
The 14th International Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Week was organised by the MRU International Office in cooperation with the University's academic and administrative units. Funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme, the event once again demonstrated MRU's commitment to strengthening international cooperation, fostering knowledge exchange, and building an open and globally connected academic community.
