Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) brought together representatives of higher education institutions from Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The international partner network meeting focused on lessons learned from previous intensive study programmes, upcoming joint academic activities and further opportunities for cooperation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Åland University of Applied Sciences and Novia University of Applied Sciences from Finland, the University of Iceland, University College Copenhagen (KP), the University of Tartu, Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia, and Mykolas Romeris University.

Particular attention was given to the upcoming Nordplus intensive programme. Drawing on the experience of the previous programme and feedback from participants, the partners discussed the academic content of the next programme, student engagement and the roles of the participating institutions. It was agreed that the next intensive programme will take place in Riga in 2027.

During their visit, the international partners also had an opportunity to learn more about Mykolas Romeris University, its study environment and opportunities for international cooperation. The guests positively evaluated the University and its potential to develop joint international initiatives.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss MRU’s further involvement in the partner network’s activities. It is being considered that MRU social work students could participate in the upcoming intensive programme, while in the future, the University could become one of the programme’s organisers and host institutions.

International cooperation will continue with a partner meeting in Copenhagen in December. In August 2027, the annual partner network meeting is planned to take place in Iceland.
