MRU Bids Farewell to Erasmus+ Exchange Students in Style

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) marked the close of the spring mobility semester with a warm send-off ceremony on 27 May. MRU welcomed its incoming exchange students one last time on Tuesday, hosting a Farewell event that brought together the international community to celebrate the end of a memorable semester abroad in Lithuania.

Organised by the International Office, the evening began with a practical session led by Roberta Gilytė, Incoming Student Coordinator, who guided students through the formal departure procedures from administrative paperwork to dormitory check-out requirements.

The atmosphere soon shifted from administrative to festive with one of the highlights of the evening: the presentation of humorous wooden medals. Based on a survey conducted among ESN students, participants were recognised across 15 light-hearted categories, including Miss Erasmus, King of the Dorm, The Gym Addict, and The Chef, among others celebrating the personalities, habits, and unforgettable moments that had shaped campus life throughout the semester.

The ceremony concluded with students gathering around a generously prepared snack table featuring an Erasmus+ cake, cupcakes, fresh fruit, and drinks a fitting finale to months of shared experiences, late-night conversations, cultural discoveries, and new friendships.

More than simply a farewell, the event celebrated the international spirit that lies at the heart of the Erasmus+ programme. MRU’s International Office extended its best wishes to all departing exchange students for their upcoming exams and safe travels home, while encouraging them to keep alive the friendships and memories created during their time in Lithuania.
