Magna Charta Universitatum 2026: MRU Will Bring Together University Leaders from Around the World in Vilnius
University

From October 14–16, 2026, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will become a hub for international academic dialogue as university leaders, academics, and higher education partners from around the world gather for the Magna Charta Universitatum 2026 anniversary event. The event theme “Beyond Resilience: Universities as Active Value-Driven Agents in a Changing World” will invite discussions on the role of universities in a world where resilience alone is no longer enough.

The discussions will address key questions about the role of universities in the context of geopolitical uncertainty, technological change, the development of artificial intelligence, and broader societal transformations. Particular attention will be given to academic freedom, university autonomy, public trust, democratic engagement, sustainability, and international cooperation.

The event will serve as an important international platform to explore how universities can not only adapt to global challenges, but also actively shape societal development.

The event programme, speakers, and registration details will be announced soon.
