Feb. 13th, 2015, Law Faculty PhD student Reda Sirgedienė defended her dissertation, "Problems of Coordination of the Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings in Administrative Law." This is the first PhD research on human trafficking in Lithuania.

It marks the first time that research in Lithuania is focused on a systematic approach and international initiatives in coordination in the fight against human trafficking.

The dissertation included the process of coordination of the human trafficking efforts related to public policy formation and its implementation, monitoring and assessment in the fields of prevention, prosecution and protection of victims in Lithuania and abroad.

The dissertation offers recommendations on developing the process of coordination of the fight against human trafficking in Lithuania.
