The MRU and DSU team will also take part in the “GameOn” gaming exhibition at the Litexpo Exhibition Centre in Vilnius from November 7 to 9.

On November 5, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will host the “Game Design Startup Hackathon” – a creative event bringing together game development, animation, and digital media students from Lithuania and the Republic of Korea.
The hackathon will involve students from MRU’s Game Development and Digital Animation and Digital Media Design study programmes, as well as professors and students from Dongseo University (DSU). The joint study programmes between MRU and DSU offer students the opportunity to study the first two years in Lithuania and the remaining two years in the Republic of Korea, creating a unique international learning and creative experience.
“Hackathons are an excellent space for creativity, teamwork, and turning ideas into real projects. It is especially exciting that this year’s Game Design Startup Hackathon brings together students and professors not only from MRU but also from our close partner, Dongseo University (Republic of Korea). This event is a great result of international cooperation and the implementation of joint study programmes, where different cultures and experiences come together to create new ecosystems of games, animation, and digital media,” notes Prof. Dr. Tadas Limba, Head of the joint study programmes.
During the hackathon, participants will form teams to develop prototypes, projects, or concept ideas for games or animations. Their creative marathon will last throughout the day – from the first brainstorming sessions to final presentations and awards. At the end of the event, the best teams will be announced and rewarded with prizes.
The event will not only give students an opportunity to apply the knowledge gained during their studies in practice but also promote collaboration between creators from different disciplines and countries.
The social partner of the Game Design Startup Hackathon is the Lithuanian Game Developers Association (LŽKA), which unites game development professionals across the country and actively contributes to nurturing young creators and promoting innovation.
