MRU Organizing Conference: Lithuanian Administrative Law in the Context of the EU

March 25th, 9.00-12.30 pm, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) is organizing the remote Conference, “Lithuanian Administrative Law in the Context of the European Union.“ It will be broadcast via the MRU “YouTube“ channel. MRU‘s Public Security Academy, MRU's Law School and administrative court representatives will be participating.

Administrative law is a system of legal norms regulating the status and competence of subjects of public administration, their civic relations with the subjects of public and private law and their mutual relations. Today the law is very relevant given the current situation in Ukraine, so the MRU-planned conference along with other institutions will help to reveal the connections between administrative law in the context of the European Union. The programme of the event, which will take place from 9.00 to 12.30 p.m., is divideed into two separate segments. The first part will cover the following topics: “Application of European Union Law in the Practice of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania“ as well as “General Overview of Cases Pending in the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court in which European Union Law is Applied“ and “Mediation in Administrative Disputes.“

 MRU Law School Dean Prof. Dr. Lyra Jakulevičienė will participate in the Conference along with MRU Law School Prof. Agnė Tvaronavičienė and MRU Law School Prof. Eglė Bilevičiūtė, who is the Vice-Chairman of the Lithuanian Administrative Disputes Commission. Other participants include: MRU Law School Prof. Andrejus Novikovas, Lithuanian Administrative Disputes Commission Deputy Chairman in Kaunas Section and MRU Public Security Academy Lecturer Birutė Pranevičienė, Vilnius University Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Skirgailė Žalimienė and Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania Court President Gintaras Kryževičius, Lithuania‘s Administrative Disputes Commission Chairman Dr. Žydrūnas Plytnikas, Vilnius District Administrative Court Chairman Jolanta Malijauskienė and Vinius Regional Court Judge Jovita Einikienė, Judge Gediminas Užubalis and Academic Ethics and Procedures Controller Loreta Tauginienė.
