In the autumn semester of 2026, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Sudovian Academy, together with the MRU Marijampolė Regional Open Access STEAM Centre, invite students from European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) partner universities to Marijampolė, Lithuania, for the international intensive course “STEAM Adventure: Education in Motion.” Taking place from 30 November to 4 December 2026, the course offers participants an opportunity to explore STEAM education through hands-on learning, international collaboration and real-world teaching experiences.
This 3 ECTS credit hybrid course takes place on 30 November – 4 December 2026 and begins with an online introductory meeting, during which students are introduced to ERUA partners, course aims, and assignments. The core part is delivered as a intensive course, moving across five consecutive days between the MRU Sudovian Academy, the STEAM Centre laboratories, a local school and city learning spaces.
Robotics runs through the programme as one of its central strands. Under the theme “Robotics: learning within and beyond the classroom walls,” students combine theoretical input with hands-on work, testing what robotics can do as a teaching tool once it is taken out of the laboratory and into a real classroom. Alongside it, participants work with digital technologies, environmental measurements and data visualisation, and examine how interdisciplinarity and 21st-century competences take shape in STEAM education.
The most distinctive element of the course is an educational day at Marijampolė Rimantas Stankevičius Progymnasium, where international teams deliver activities to real classes and receive feedback on them. Throughout the week, students from different ERUA universities work in international and interdisciplinary teams, applying problem-based learning, design thinking and experiential methods.
The course culminates in a final reflection and dissemination session, where student teams present the STEAM learning scenarios they have designed for school and community contexts.
The course is open to Bachelor’s (1st – 4th year) and Master’s students in education, social sciences, humanities, and STEAM-related fields. The language of instruction is English (minimum B2 level). Twenty places are available for ERUA students, with the application deadline on 1 October 2026.
