Autumn Celebration: Chuseok Traditions and Culture

On September 25th, Vilnius King Sejong Institute, based at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), organized an event "Autumn Celebration: Chuseok", during which Korean traditions and culture were celebrated in a festive atmosphere.

The event introduced the traditions and cultural significance of Chuseok while enhancing participants' understanding of Korean culture through various traditional game experiences and quiz activities.

It included Korean traditional handcrafts, while creating a space for enjoyable cultural interaction. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a Traditional Korean dance: Ganggangsullae,  and to write their wishes and hang them on a full moon, as during Chuseok, Korea's harvest festival, to look at the bright autumn full moon and make a wish is a cherished tradition. All students showed a growing interest in Korean cultural activities and traditions with this cultural exchange.
