March 29th, 2016, representatives from the national innovation office, the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA), visited Mykolas Romeris University's (MRU) LAB and met with university academics.

MITA's Research, Experimental Development and Innovations Unit Head Ričardas Valančiauskas participated along with MITA International Programmes unit senior specialist Dr. Viktoras Mongirdas.

During the meeting there was discussion about the possibility to participate in MITA administered international programmes and to take part in exchanges of researchers, training within the framework of the project TYKU2.

Representatives from MITA introduced planned national administered means including encouragement of internationality and planned projects that are to be implemented (for example "Inospurtas").

There was discussion about areas where MITA is active including profit tax initiatives and purchasing, procurement.

MITA is the main governmental institution, responsible for implementation of innovation policy in Lithuania.

The Agency provides free services for clients from the business, science and public sectors, interested in developing closer cooperation with international partners and to get financial support for research and innovation projects.

The main activity of the Agency is the coordination of national activities and international programmes (HORIZON 2020, EUREKA, EUROSTARS).
