Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) welcomed its incoming exchange students for the Autumn 2026 semester with a week full of informative sessions, social activities, campus experiences, and opportunities to discover Vilnius and Lithuania.
The Introductory Week began on Tuesday, August 25, with a Welcome to MRU event, Meet & Greet activities, icebreaking games, and a campus tour organizedd by volunteers from ESN MRU Vilnius. The activities gave students their first opportunity to meet one another, get to know the MRU community, and become familiar with their new university environment.
On Wednesday, August 26, students took part in an official Welcome Meeting with the Vice-Rector for Studies, Vice-Deans for Studies, and representatives of the International Office. Following the meeting, students gathered for a group photo before attending presentations by ESN MRU Vilnius and the Psychological Counseling Department. They were also introduced to the MRU Library and received practical information and tips on navigating life in Lithuania as locals. The day concluded with a Q&A session with the coordinator of incoming students, allowing students to ask questions about their exchange experience and life at MRU.
On Thursday, August 27, the programme focused more closely on academic and practical aspects of student life. Students attended an informational seminar on the procedures of studies at MRU, followed by a meeting with representatives from Vilnius County Police. They also met with the coordinator of incoming students and learned more about the activities and support provided by the Well-being Community Center. On this day, King Sejong Institute also presented its activities for exchange students.
Friday, August 28, provided students with an opportunity to explore another aspect of life in Lithuania through an excursion to the Centre for Civil Education. The students participated in the visit in two groups. After the excursion, they had free time to explore Vilnius independently or take part in an optional guided walking tour of the city.
On Monday, August 31, students travelled to Trakai for an excursion. The trip offered them an opportunity to discover one of Lithuania’s well-known historical destinations while spending time together outside the university environment.
The Introductory Week concluded on Tuesday, September 1, with the Academic Year Opening Celebration on the MRU campus. Students joined the MRU community in celebrating the beginning of the new academic year and officially starting their university experience at MRU.
Throughout the week, incoming exchange students had the opportunity to meet new friends and MRU staff members, become familiar with our university and its services, receive important academic and practical information, and experience Lithuanian culture and student life. The combination of social activities, informative sessions, excursions, and opportunities to explore Vilnius provided students with a welcoming and engaging start to their exchange semester at Mykolas Romeris University.
