Project Leader at MRU: Dr. Dangis Gudelis

Project Objective: to fundamentally transform suburban mobility, logistics, and management by implementing AI-based, resident-oriented, and climate-neutral solutions.

Project Summary: To address the challenges of fragmented mobility networks, inefficient logistics, and management gaps, the project integrates an advanced mobility data space (aMDS), suburban mobility hubs (PUMH), an eco-friendly and safe route selection algorithm (GSRA), bio-packaging logistics units (bioPLU), and digital twin ecosystems. Using AI-based risk assessment, emissions monitoring, real-time analysis, multimodal transport optimization, and VR/AR-based participatory management, BIO-INTEL-MOB improves access to and connectivity within cities and suburbs, reduces dependence on private cars by 35%, and optimizes the efficiency of multimodal transport by 35%. The project’s measures will reduce traffic congestion in cities and suburbs by 30% and cut logistics-related emissions and packaging waste by 25%. In addition, BIO-INTEL-MOB will reduce the risk of accidents involving vulnerable road users (VRUs) by 35%, improve air quality and reduce noise pollution by 20%, and reduce the impact of transport pollution on human health by 30%.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon-IA program.
