Economic corridors are a multifaceted phenomenon the aim of which is to reduce geographic inequality. The “One Belt, One Road” initiative had influence on a wave of new research on economic corridor and logistics ties. It is thought that economic corridor development is closely connected with a country’s logistics changes, but there is not enough research in this area.

Empirical research has established that better quality of institutions in countries creates more favourable conditions for the growth in the level of logistics. The impact of economic corridors on the level of logistics in European countries is ambiguous. The marginal effect of the impact varies, depending on the management culture existing in the country, which determines the effectiveness of the institutional environment.
