Roundtable Discussion: Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine
28 d. 16:00 hr, 28 d. 17:00 hr
LRT.lt

Feb. 28th, 16:00 hrs., there will be a round table discussion broadcast on LRT.lt regarding Russia's attack on Ukraine. The discussion will be moderated by Mykolas Romeris University's Law School Prof. dr. Justinas Žilinskas.

Russia's attack on Ukraine is unprecedented, even in a legal sense. Unlike previous invasions, Russia did not even try to develop a clearer legal basis, ignoring all the principles of the UN Charter. International law has been powerless to stop hostilities on its own, but the illegality of Russia's aggression must be assessed. The following issues will be analyzed in the discussion:

Recognition of the supposed statehood of puppetry as a pretext for military invasion.

Breach of the principle of non - use of force in international law.

Personal liability for violations of international law (international crimes).
