Commemoration of Lithuania’s Independence Day

Feb. 15th, 2023, at 11.00 students are invited to attend the commemoration of Lithuania's Independence Day at the Government House Building (Gedimino Pr. 11, Vilnius).
Students must register in advance to attend the event.
February 16th established the idea of an independent state of Lithuania having matured within a live historical framework of memory to a modern country of Lithuanians united by an idea. This creation, in an independent February 16th state, was formed in a civil society and grew until a new generation came into force taking responsibility for the country and its preservation.
Independence Day event programme:
- Academic Choir "Ave Vita“ performance;
- Dr. Aurimas Švedas, lecture by Vilnius University (VU) History Faculty Assoc. Professor: "February 16th Society Lessons For Us“;
- Film director Giedrė Žickytė's documentary film, "The Jump" (Šuolis), screening;
- Lithuania's National Museum exhibit, "Signatories of the Independence Act" viewing.
