Celebrating Lithuania’s Day of Restoration of Independence in Friendship Garden
10 d. 14:00 hr, 10 d. 15:00 hr
Friendship Garden, Didlaukio St. 55, Vilnius

March 10th, at 14.oo hrs., in MRU's Friendship Garden, the MRU academic community, including students, lecturers and staff, is invited to celebrate the restoration of Lithuania's Independence Day holiday together.

It is symbolic, but it is friendship and support that are crucial in the context of Ukraine's struggle for freedom.

The Friendship Garden contains a total of 39 trees including Japanese sakuras. All of the trees have been given symbolic names including: Freedom, Courage, Human Rights, Peace,  Justice, Respect for Man and the Rule of Law. We want to draw your attention to this.

We will invite participants to decorate the Friendship Garden's trees with Ukraine and Lithuanian flag ribbons and we will unfurl the Ukrainian flag. There will be a group photo which will be posted on social media.

March 11th is a special day for our University. After the restoration of Lithuania's independence in 1990, the first page of the history of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) unfolded. After only a month of restoration of independence, a higher education institution was established. It was later renamed (in 2004) after the Lithuanian judge and professor Mykolas Romeris. Thus Mykolas Romeris University was established.
