Summary: ERUA is unique amongst European Universities thanks to our geographical spread and our focus in the social sciences, humanities and arts. Our public value lies in our capacity to critically reflect and contribute to solving the global challenges with an interdisciplinary perspective which draws on our ongoing and fruitful dialogue with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Objectives We are focused on building on our accomplishments, by focusing on 3 specific objectives of

1) building an interconnected and green campus,
2) focusing on a student-centred and reformist educational framework and

3) shaping a more just open and inclusive society.

Linked to these special objectives, our flagships are focused on the

1) increase of mobility opportunity,

2) deployment of the virtual campus,

3) establishment of joint degrees,

4) launch of the Academic Innovation Lab,

5) creation of research-based clusters and

6) development of the Social Entrepreneurship Programme.

Concept and methodology Based on these 3 specific objectives and 6 flagship initiatives, our joint strategy is broken down into 8 work packages: WP1: Management and Coordination WP2: Shaping ERUA’s Innovative Learning Pathways WP3: Structuring ERUA’s Research-Based Clusters WP4: Shaping ERUA’s Campus WP5: Achieving Social Change in ERUA’s Local Communities and Regions WP6: Shaping ERUA’s Alternative Entrepreneurship WP7: Shaping ERUA Through Student Engagement WP8: Communication and Impact Impact Our approach to impact is based on dialogue, as opposed to the paradigm of the generation of impact as an outward one-way road. Following that principle, we aim to increase the engagement of communities and individuals, generate new and improve content. Additionally our ambitions are to act as a role model for other institutions and become a key actor in the role universities are to play in tackling the great challenges of our time such as the digital and green revolution.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme’s European Universities Initiative.
