State scholarships

Scholarships for short-term studies

Scholarships for short-term studies in Lithuania (excluding Lithuanian studies) offered for candidates who are the students of higher education institutions of the following countries:

The Eastern Partnership countries: Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia.
ASEM countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, China, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
Lithuania priority export market countries: Sweden, Germany, Norway, Finland, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, Estonia, the USA, Israel.

For full-time master degree studies

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania is opening a Call for applications for 50 Lithuanian state grants for full-time Master’s degree at Lithuanian higher education institutions for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Funding under the Call will be provided to citizens of  the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the People’s Republic of China, Georgia, the State of Israel, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Ukraine and foreigners of Lithuanian origin.
All approved candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of 390 euros for the duration of their studies. Only citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Ukraine and foreigners of Lithuanian origin will be covered the cost of the studies of their full-time Master’s degree studies, up to a limit not exceeding the national standard study cost.

For doctoral studies

The doctoral education is financed by state assignations and tuition fees. The state also provides competitive financing opportunities that are organized by the Research Council of Lithuania. These programmes offer funding for candidate's abroad internships, participation in national as well as international scientific events, and also financing for academic staff visiting Lithuania to deliver lectures for doctoral students and to participate in doctoral thesis defense. Additional financial support to doctoral candidates may be provided on bases of the national or international programs, ex. Erasmus, The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) and etc.


Mykolas Romeris University partial tuition scholarships

Citizens of the Republic of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Georgia, who are applying for Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes taught in English are offered a partial tuition scholarship at Mykolas Romeris University.

First year Bachelor students are offered partial tuition scholarship from 360 to 800 euros, depending on the chosen study programme, first year Master students are offered partial tuition scholarship from 880 to 900 euros, depending on the chosen study programme.

Possibility to get the partial tuition scholarship in the following years depends on study result, the average of grades should be no less than 8.

For students, who enter joint or double degree programmes, partial tuition scholarship can be offered during the study period in Lithuania only.


Mykolas Romeris University Senate Scholarships

The Senate Scholarship shall be granted to first and second cycle students, regardless of their type of financing, for good (in exceptional cases – very good) learning outcomes and active involvement in sports, artistic, scientific and social activities. The Senate Scholarships are granted each semester by the University Senate with the approval of the Senate Study Commission. The Senate Scholarship size is €152 per a month and it is granted for one semester.

Erasmus+ Mobility grants and Exchange Opportunities

All MRU degree-seeking students are eligible to participate in Erasmus mobility for studies or traineeships in other EU countries, also benefit from all other University international exchange programmes.

Erasmus+ studies. After selection procedure at MRU, students can study abroad for 1 or 2 semesters at MRU partner universities in other EU countries and receive scholarship from €420 to €520 per a month depending the host country. More information here.

Erasmus+ traineeships. Those students who wish to undertake internship in other EU country (during summer time also) can apply for Erasmus+ support to their traineeship at an enterprise abroad. Erasmus+ grants from €600 to €700 per month for traineeships of at least 2 months duration are available from MRU. Selection of students for upcoming Erasmus+ traineeship is held every month. Erasmus+ traineeships for recent graduates of at least 2 months duration are available as well (selection procedure must be finished before graduation from MRU). More information here. 

There are many other possibilities to go abroad during the degree studies at MRU – various short-term programmes and competitions are continuously announced. The academic credits and grades accumulated during the exchange programmes shall be recognized as a component of a student’s academic programme at Mykolas Romeris University.
