Project Objective: to strengthen the education system by providing the necessary competencies to educational staff and attracting teachers to schools through alternative means.

Project Description: The activities of the project “Tęsk: Come, Grow, Contribute!” aim to enhance the appeal of the teaching profession and strengthen the system for teacher training and professional development, as well as to ensure the influx of new teachers into the education system.

During the project implementation period, studies in pedagogical specializations in specific subject(s) and/or educational fields will be funded, and alternatives for attracting teachers and student support specialists to educational institutions will be tested. To address the specific challenges of the shortage of new teachers and student support specialists in schools, the quality of practical preparation for professional practice, successful integration into the profession, and their continued work in schools, a mentoring program will be implemented for teachers and student support specialists, as well as support for their transition into professional practice, professional development, and ongoing support. The project provides for support for educational institution administrators—long-term mentoring for administrators, the development and implementation of professional development programs for educational institution administrators, as well as the preparation of a description of teacher internships and the organization of internships abroad. The project activities also include funding for the studies and professional development of Lithuanian language education providers.

Project Activities:

1. Attract new teachers and provide individuals with teaching qualifications the opportunity to acquire skills in another subject/specialization or management competencies, and ensure opportunities for Lithuanian language education providers to improve their qualifications.
2. Provide support to school administrators.
3. Expand opportunities for teacher collaboration (program for professional development internships abroad).
