Journal Publishing - MRU

Journal Publishing

The publication of periodical scholarly journals at the University includes the preparation and publishing of peer reviewed University academic journals in accordance with the principles of open access, academic ethics, international standards of good publishing practice, and the University’s strategic research development priorities.

The publication of University academic journals is organized in compliance with the University Research Activity Regulations and the specific regulations of each academic journal, approved by an order of the Rector. The regulations of each journal define in detail:

• the editorial structure
• the peer review procedures for research articles and other published materials
• authorship and publication ethics principles
• the open access policy
• research data sharing and transparency requirements
• other elements of the publishing process

An academic journal is established by an order of the Rector approving:

• the journal’s regulations
• the manuscript review form
• the author’s declaration and license agreement
• the reviewer’s confidentiality and impartiality declaration

Recommendations regarding the establishment, termination, merger, renaming of journals, inclusion of partners, indexing in international databases, setting of publication fees, and other strategic matters are submitted to the Rector by the Committee upon proposal of the council of the relevant academic unit.
