Prof. Dr. Paulo Pereira, Head of the Environmental Management Research Laboratory at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), has been recognized as the highest-ranked Environmental Sciences researcher in Lithuania for the third consecutive year in the international Research.com ranking.

This recognition is based on a comprehensive bibliometric analysis that draws on data from leading scientific databases, including OpenAlex, CrossRef, and other authoritative sources. Researchers are ranked according to their D-index, one of the most important indicators of scientific impact, reflecting the significance, visibility, and influence of research within the international academic community.

Prof. Dr. Pereira has achieved a D-index of 57, a result that demonstrates the substantial impact of his research in the field of Environmental Sciences and his sustained contribution to the analysis of environmental challenges and the development of evidence-based solutions.

“This recognition is the result of years of collaboration with colleagues around the world. Although I have received this recognition in recent years, it is always motivating to maintain and further improve the quality of my research. Environmental research is essential to human well-being, as we all depend on healthy ecosystems in our daily lives. The support and collaboration of my colleagues have been fundamental throughout my career. Without them, it would not have been possible to develop so many high-quality research projects and publications. Looking ahead, my goal is to continue striving for research excellence, which has always been at the core of my work,” says Prof. Dr. Paulo Pereira.

This achievement reflects not only the scientist’s personal excellence but also the international competitiveness of environmental research conducted at MRU. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Pereira, the Environmental Management Research Laboratory actively develops interdisciplinary research addressing climate change, soil degradation, ecosystem resilience, and the sustainable management of natural resources. The laboratory’s work contributes to the development of science-based solutions and strengthens Lithuania’s visibility within the global Environmental Sciences community.
