From April 29 to May 1, 2026, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) in Vilnius will host a meeting of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP). This high-level event will bring together university leaders, innovators, and partners from around the world.
Held under the theme “Resilient Minds, Innovative Pathways: Universities Leading Global Transformation,” the conference reflects the key priorities of higher education today: resilience, innovation, and societal impact. The programme will place a strong focus on digital transformation, institutional agility, inclusive leadership, and sustainability.
The International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) brings together heads of higher education institutions worldwide, fostering international cooperation and advancing higher education. Meetings of this kind provide a space not only for sharing experience, but also for jointly addressing global challenges.
According to MRU Vice-Rector for Studies, Prof. Dr. Natalija Kaminskienė, hosting an event of this scale in Lithuania marks an important step in strengthening the country’s visibility in the international academic landscape:
“The international gathering of university leaders in Vilnius demonstrates that Lithuania and Mykolas Romeris University are active participants in the global academic community. This conference offers an opportunity not only to discuss the key directions of higher education, but also to strengthen international partnerships and collaboration, which are essential for developing sustainable and innovative solutions.”
For several days, Vilnius will become a hub for international dialogue in higher education, with MRU providing a space where diverse academic perspectives and experiences meet. Such meetings highlight the role of both the city and the university in fostering an open, innovative, and internationally connected academic environment.
