Project Objective: to investigate the relationship between ecological anxiety and environmentally friendly consumption among young adults and to assess the significance of coping, perceived behavioral control, knowledge, hope, and sociodemographic variables.
Project Summary: The project aims to investigate how ecological anxiety is related to environmentally friendly behavior and what psychological factors determine this relationship. The study will analyze how different coping strategies, perceived behavioral control, existing knowledge, and hope influence the impact of ecological anxiety on behavior. Sociodemographic differences (e.g., age, gender, socioeconomic status) will also be assessed, with a particular focus on the group of young people. Based on the collected data, the study aims to reveal under what conditions ecological anxiety promotes constructive action and when it becomes harmful, thereby contributing to the development of more effective psychological and educational interventions.
The project is funded from the state budget and is being carried out under the Lithuanian Science Council’s postdoctoral fellowship program.
