On March 3, the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) ERUA Student Community launched Climate Awareness Month with its first workshop, “University Speech Afternoon: Climate, Sustainability & Technology.” The event marked the beginning of a month-long programme of student-led discussions and activities dedicated to sustainability, climate action, and dialogue about our shared future.
The workshop was led by Erikas Marcinkevičius, an innovation and business development manager working at the intersection of sustainable development, technology, and business. He is also a European Climate Pact Ambassador and the organiser of The Fashion Portal (Mados Portalas) events, actively contributing to sustainability discussions across innovation, technology, and the fashion industry.
During the session, participants watched and reflected on a curated selection of short speeches presenting diverse perspectives on climate change, sustainability, innovation, and technology. The workshop was designed as an interactive space for exchanging ideas, asking questions, and discussing how climate-related conversations shape public understanding and inspire action.
The format encouraged open dialogue. Participants could actively engage in discussions or simply listen and reflect, creating a relaxed, inclusive, and learning-oriented atmosphere.
This event marked the official opening of Climate Awareness Month at MRU – a student-led initiative organised by the ERUA Student Community. Throughout March, the programme will feature lectures, workshops, discussions, a Climate Café, and a climate-focused exhibition on campus.
