Join the 2nd Student Scientific Conference “Thesis and Toffee”
Faculty of Public Governance and Business

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), together with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), invites students, lecturers, junior researchers, and alumni to take part in the 2nd Student Scientific Conference “Thesis and Toffee”, which will be held on May 22–23, 2026.

The conference offers a platform for presenting research, sharing academic insights, and engaging in discussions on a wide range of contemporary topics relevant to public governance, education, communication, culture, and language studies. It aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and strengthen the academic community.

Conference format

The conference will take place over two days in different formats:

  • On May 22, the conference will be held remotely from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • On May 23, the conference will take place in a hybrid format from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., both online and in person at Mykolas Romeris University (Ateities g. 20, Vilnius).

Conference topics

Participants are invited to submit presentations within the following thematic areas:

  • Public Governance and Policy: Current Challenges and Future Visions
  • Civil Society and Sustainable Development
  • Transformations and Innovations in Educational Governance
  • Educational Leadership and Change Management
  • People in Education: Attraction, Well-being and Professional Growth
  • Equity, Inclusion and Equality in Education
  • Culture, Creativity and Education in the Digital Age
  • Language, Translation and Technology
  • Communication and Social Interaction: Present and Future Directions

Submission and participation

Those wishing to present their research are invited to submit an abstract via the registration form by April 24, 2026 here.

Each presentation should last up to 4 minutes and be delivered using slides.

Both paper authors and their academic supervisors are encouraged to prioritise in-person participation. However, participants who are unable to attend on-site will be provided with the opportunity to join remotely. There is no requirement to prepare or submit presentation recordings in advance. A recorded presentation without participation in the discussion will not be considered valid participation in the conference.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, but prior registration is mandatory.

Programme and selection

The selection of presentations will be carried out until the registration deadline. All authors will be informed about the status of their submissions by April 30, 2026.
The conference programme is scheduled to be announced on May 12, 2026.
