The European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) invites students from all study fields to take part in a Creative Expression Contest dedicated to celebrating the upcoming ERUA Day. The competition encourages students to showcase ERUA’s core values through poetry, photography, short video reels, or drawings.
Participants from Mykolas Romeris university (MRU) are invited to interpret the themes freely – through personal stories, reflections on culture and identity, or artistic and abstract expressions.
Themes and Values
Submissions should reflect one or more of ERUA’s guiding principles:
- inclusiveness and diversity,
- multilingualism and cultural exchange,
- democratic values and open dialogue,
- creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking,
- European cooperation and solidarity.
Categories
Students may submit one entry per category:
- Poetry (English; up to 30 lines or 300 words; multilingual elements allowed)
- Photography (original, JPEG/PNG, at least 1080p)
- Reel / Short Video (up to 60 seconds; MP4 or downloadable link)
- Drawing / Illustration (digital or hand-drawn artwork)
All submissions must consist of original or properly licensed material.
Inspiration
Contributors are encouraged to draw from:
- their experience as European students or researchers,
- encounters between cultures and languages,
- the idea of “unity in diversity,”
- academic freedom and the power of knowledge,
- themes of sustainability, solidarity, or social justice.
Evaluation & Important Dates
A local jury at each ERUA university will evaluate entries based on relevance, creativity, artistic impact, and technical or linguistic quality.
- Submission deadline: 8 December
- Winners announced on: 12 December (ERUA Day)
- Winning entries will be showcased during the ERUA Day event.

Entries must be submitted via the Google Form.
Please attach your file (PDF, image, or video) and include: Name, University, Study Programme.
Prizes
One winner will be selected per category at each partner university.
All winning pieces will be featured on the ERUA website, social media channels, and in the Catch-Up magazine.
Additional symbolic prizes include books, vouchers, and ERUA merchandise.
