ERUA alliance students are invited to join the intensive course “Navigating the Future of Human Rights: Challenges, Innovations & Advocacy in a Changing World”. The course will take place online on 9 December 2025 and on-site at the MRU Law School on 17–19 December 2025.
This academic programme is designed for students seeking a deeper understanding of how technological developments, the climate crisis, geopolitical tensions and global economic changes are shaping today’s human rights landscape. The course offers opportunities to analyse real cases, engage in discussions with lecturers and peers from various countries, and work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural environment.
Course content and objectives
During the online component, students will be introduced to the evolution of human rights, key international documents and major protection mechanisms.
The on-site component at the MRU Law School will allow participants to explore today’s most pressing topics:
- the impact of artificial intelligence, big tech and digital surveillance on human rights;
- human rights challenges arising from climate change and emerging responsibility models;
- corporate responsibility, ethics and human rights due diligence;
- detainees’ rights protection and its practical challenges;
- contemporary advocacy and communication strategies in the human rights field.
The course integrates theoretical insights with practical activities, encouraging students to evaluate complex situations, identify solutions and apply international human rights standards in real-world contexts.

Upon successful completion, students will receive 2 ECTS.
Assessment consists of a test (30%), active participation (30%) and a final group presentation (40%).
Participants
The course is open to ERUA network law students (BA and MA).
A B2 level of English is required.
A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted.
Selection is based on academic background, motivation and demonstrated interest in human rights. Priority is given to law students.

- a short motivation letter (up to 300 words);
- a completed application form.
