On November 11, the Head of the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania, Constance H. Wang, visited Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), where she was welcomed by MRU rector Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė. The rector introduced the guest to the university, its study programs, and the achievements of its researchers.
Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė emphasized that cooperation with the academic community of Taiwan and other countries in the Indo-Pacific region helps to strengthen intercultural dialogue and bring together scientific potential to address globally relevant issues such as security, climate change, and sustainable development. The rector expressed her satisfaction that in recent years, 15 students from Taiwan have studied at MRU, and visiting lecturers from Taiwan have also taught at the university. The discussion included opportunities to further expand student and faculty exchanges.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Dr. Mantas Bileišis, Dean of the MRU Public Security Academy, Audra Dargytė-Burokienė, Head of the International Office at MRU, Violeta Gaižauskaitė, Advisor to the Rector for International Relations and Communication, and representatives of the Taiwanese Office, the participants discussed the continuation of cooperation with Taiwanese higher education institutions, student scholarships, research internships, and other joint initiatives.
