Discover Mediation at a Free Summer Camp in Riga!

From August 11 to 21, 2025, Mykolas Romeris University students are invited to participate in a summer camp hosted by Turiba University in Riga, where an intensive course “Mediation in Criminal and Civil Cases” will take place as part of the NORDPLUS project.

This camp is open to students from various academic programmes (Law, Public Administration, Global Security, Management, Psychology, and others). Courses provide an excellent opportunity to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of mediation, improve key communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, and expand your network while enjoying a vibrant international experience.

Participation in the courses is free of charge – the organisers will cover all course-related expenses, including travel from Lithuania to Riga and back, accommodation at the student dormitory on the university campus, weekday meals, and the costs of all study-related visits and excursions. Meals during weekends are not covered, so students will need to plan for their own food on those days. Participants are also required to arrange their own travel and health insurance for the duration of the course, as well as cover personal expenses such as local transportation in Riga.

The courses is delivered in English and grants 4 ECTS credits, which may be recognised as part of your study programme. The training will include lectures, workshops, simulations, and group discussions. The academic programme will be enriched by a social and cultural programme featuring guided tours and informal meetings.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and collaborate with peers from Latvia and Finland, with sessions led by experienced lecturers and professionals from partner universities. This is a unique chance not only to develop new skills but also to connect with like-minded students from other countries.

If you are interested in joining the summer camp, please send a short letter of motivation by June 16, 2025, by email to i.korsakoviene@mruni.eu. Selected participants will be contacted on June 18, 2025, with further steps and detailed information on how to prepare for the course.
