In Memoriam: Ex-Constitutional Court Justice & MRU Law School Prof. Gediminas Mesonis

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law School Prof. Gediminas Mesonis (1968-2022 ) passed away. He was a beloved Law School lecturer, a great colleague and legal scholar who left behind a rich academic legacy.

Prof. Mesonis was born on November 9th, 1968. He lectured at Mykolas Romeris University for more than two decades. He was a member of Lithuania's Constitutional Court from 2011-2021.

His view of law was academically innovative, sometimes rather courageous and critically ascertaining not only academic doctrine, but also the work of judges. As a former member of the Constitutional Court, his wide experience was reflected in his academic work and research.

In the fall, with the beginning of a new academic year at MRU, Prof. Gediminas Mesonis will be missed at the University. However, his academic works and research will remain and remind us of a professor who was not only a great lecturer, eloquent in his manner of delivery, but also a fine researcher and academic. Prof. Gediminas is the recepient of Lithuania's Gediminas Order Cross (2022).
