Mykolas Romeris University Law graduate and now Kaunas attorney Inga Blaževičienė has taken up painting.

After she broke her leg in 2014 she found she had some spare time on her hands.

Encouraged by an artist friend, she began to paint. The results, a collection of her paintings is on display in the 2nd and 3rd floor foyer of MRU.

The paintings are colourful, sunny and as cheery as the lawyer herself.

At 43, she already has 22 years of practice in the legal profession of which more than half is as a practicing attorney.

"I like my job," said the criminal law attorney. "I like to paint," she adds.

As for inspiration, she said she has no idea where she gets her ideas. But, if she is inspired, she can paint quickly - sometimes 2 or 3 paintings a day.

"My mother laughs at me. She can't believe that I can paint several paintings a day," Blaževičienė said.

"In each painting, there is me, myself," she explains and adds that painting is a journey of self-exploration.

She has decided that she needs some art lessons and spends Saturdays perfecting her painting skills in Kaunas.

The self-taught artist has displayed 20 of her works of art at MRU, her Alma Mater.

She spoke warmly of the University and especially of her former Law Professor Saulius Katuoka.

The works of art will be on display during December 2015 at Mykolas Romeris University.
